Post-award
Federal Financial Report (SF-425)FFR
The periodic accounting of what's been spent and obligated on an award, filed on form SF-425.
The Federal Financial Report reports an award's cash and expenditures to the sponsor: funds received, disbursed, and obligated, plus any program income or cost share. It's filed on a set schedule and again at closeout.
The numbers have to reconcile with the institution's financial system and with cash drawn down; discrepancies are a common source of sponsor queries.
Why it matters
A late or unreconciled FFR can freeze drawdowns and hold up closeout across the institution.
