Notice of AwardNOA
The legal document that establishes a grant, its terms and conditions, and its funded amount.
The Notice of Award, or the equivalent award notice from other sponsors, is the binding document that obligates funds and sets the grant's terms: the budget period, project period, approved budget, reporting requirements, and any award-specific restrictions or prior-approval conditions.
It marks the handoff from pre-award to post-award: the point at which an account is set up and spending can begin against the authorized budget.
The NOA's terms govern what you can spend, when, and what needs prior approval: reading it carefully prevents disallowed costs later.
