Biographical Sketch
A standardized short CV for senior/key personnel, showing qualifications and contributions relevant to the project.
Sponsors require a formatted biographical sketch for each senior/key person rather than a full CV. NIH and NSF each prescribe a format: a personal statement, positions, contributions to science or products, and increasingly machine-readable sources like SciENcv, with strict page limits.
Biosketches establish that the team is qualified, and using the wrong or outdated format can make an application non-compliant.
An out-of-format or over-length biosketch can trigger rejection before review: sponsors enforce the template strictly.
